There are many flavors of virtual museums. Now there is a virtual museum of European history which is a collaboration of more than a dozen museums. This one is fairly modest, but the design is clean and you can rotate objects. Not sure if this is photographic or laser scans with textures. Thoughts? I think there’s great potential for virtual museums in the future. In this case, for instance, a viewer can see some significant artifacts that are housed in museums that are somewhat off the beaten track. This object, for example, is one of the earliest depictions of a mother with child. Check it out with this link.
